The International Dance Organization (IDO), is a World Federation with a membership of over 90 Nations, representing more than 250,000 dancers, from six continents.
The IDO grants the rights to conduct world and continental championship events and cups in its dance disciplines
The IDO has for many years held Associate Membership with both the WDC and the IDSF. It represents dancers in many disciplines including Salsa. Merengue, Argentine Tango, Street Dancing, Hip Hop and Disco. It is the recognised World Authority in these and other non Ballroom & Latin American dancing (the 10 dances)
For many years they were an important link in the IDSF Vision 2012. However it would now appear they are about to reject 2012 and will leave the IDSF and be linked only with the WDC.
A huge blow to IDSF that there Vision could be rejected by a body with representation in more countries than the IDSF.
Why do IDSF not step back, take a long hard look, and ask themselves "What are we doing that is so wrong?". The answer is not hard to find.
